The temple is one of the most important temples not only in Palmyra but also in the whole of the East because of its greatness and the density of its historical significance. The temple was built on the foundations of the temples of the first temple, the third millennium BC, and the second temple in 400 BC, ie the Hellenistic period. On the top of a Rakami hill, built for the first century AD) was built by a group of destructive families. Architectural description

The temple is surrounded by a gallery with measurements (210/215) in the middle of which is the sanctuary and next to it is the holy pool where the worshipers wash before the tawaaf and the table. The sanctuary of the temple is surrounded on its four sides by arches with colonnaded columns with Corinthian decorations of bronze and inside it are two niches, one in the southern side, dedicated to the residence of God, and 250 in the upper column. One piece of stone and carved in the middle of the lotus flower and the northern mihrab also see the ceiling carved from one piece of stone dimensions (5/6) meters. In the center of the ceiling was a northern dome carved with six gods in the center of which was the god "Bell". The temple of Bell was used as a church in the sixth century AD, as evidenced by the remains of Christian icons and drawings and later used as a synagogue. Radical jihadists have tried to destroy the archaeological Temple of Bell after the organization's attacks on Palmyra in 2015
